TENMYOUYA HISASHI

Born in Tokyo,Japan, in 1966 February.
Tenmyouya Hisashi is a Japanese contemporary artist.
He supposed his unique Japanese painting “Neo Nihonga“ which revives Japanese traditional paintings as a contemporary art. Later, he announced a concept called "Meta Nihonga" in the updated version. In 2010 he proposed a new Japanese art scheme named “BASARA“ which is extravagant and extraordinary and embodies a Samurai aesthetic like “BASARA“ in Nanboku dynasty era and “Kabuki-mono“ in the end of Sengoku era.

In addition to that, he serializes his paintings in magazines including “BURST“ or “SENSE“ etc as his art concept “Shijou-geijutsu“(Art on a magazine). 2006 Documentary film “≒ Tenmyouya Hisashi“ released. “TENGAI GALLERY“ 2012 - 2013, produced by Hisashi Tenmyouya. He started the “TENGAI project“ in 2014. He started the “Roji Sera project“ in 2017. He shifted the main base of activities the “TENGAI project“ to “Gallery MUMON“ in 2019.

天明屋 尚（てんみょうや ひさし）

1966年2月東京生まれ
レコード会社のアートディレクターなどを経た後、現代美術家として活動。
日本伝統絵画を現代に転生させる独自の絵画表現を「ネオ日本画」とし、そのアップデート版を「メタ日本画」、華美(過美)で覇格(破格)な美の系譜を「BASARA」と宣言。

2002年「天明屋尚と暁斎展」河鍋暁斎記念美術館(埼玉), 2014年「一筆入魂」パルコミュージアム(東京), 2019年「国津神」ミヅマアートギャラリー(東京)。

「BURST(コアマガジン)」「SENSE(株式会社センス)」などの雑誌に「誌上芸術」として連載。2006年ドキュメンタリー映画「≒天明屋尚」公開。2012年～2013年「TENGAI GALLERY」プロデュース。2014年～「TENGAIプロジェクト」始動。2017年～「世良郎ニプロジェクト」始動。2019年～TENGAIプロジェクトの活動拠点を「ギャラリーMUMON」にシフトし活動。
